India Yamaha Motor Pvt Ltd. (IYM), has released information about certain YZF-R3 motorcycles within certain production numbers range on behalf of the parent company Yamaha Motor Co. (YMC) Ltd., Japan. The information raises a concern about defects which prevail in the radiator hose and torsion spring in units of the bike model mentioned above. Garage Door Torsion

The issue in detail, is about the leaking of the coolant from the radiator hose and the widening of the torsion spring. Yamaha has already initiated a factory modification campaign for replacing this parts. Until now, 1874 units of the Yamaha YZF-R3 sold in the Indian and export markets have been called back.

The units that have been called back were manufactured between July 2015 and May 2018. Yamaha is also making sure they contact the owners individually through the Yamaha authorised dealers. The changes will be made free of cost and Yamaha is also making sure that the replacement happens smoothly without much inconvenience caused to the owners.

No such issue has been reported with the units currently on Indian roads but the automaker is fixing the bikes as a voluntary measure.
