The governing board of Missouri State is scheduled to vote Wednesday on a contract to build the university's first Performing Arts Pavilion.

The new home for Tent Theatre will have a tension membrane roof, a permanent stage and fixed tiers for 350 removable seats.
In its entirety, the project is expected to cost $6.4 million and paid for through a mix of private donations, university funds, and the sale of real estate.
The MSU Board of Governor's executive committee will have a virtual meeting at 4 p.m. Wednesday and vote on a proposal to award a $5,147,450 contract to Carson-Mitchell, Inc. for construction of the pavilion.
If approved, work will begin this spring.

The rest of the budget will cover the consulting fees, construction contingency, project administration, telecommunications, and furniture, fixtures and equipment.
MSU is planning nearly 10,000 square feet of site improvements near the pavilion, such as landscaping, lighting and storm water management.
The project was part of university's Onward, Upward campaign, started quietly in 2017, and made public in October 2019. It is expected to run through at least 2022 with the goal of raising $250 million or more.
