Amazon Prime Day doesn't mean just discounts on tech, but also on a whole range of clothing. This is particularly useful as after a summer-like autumn, the temperatures are about to plummet off a cliff, and so our wardrobes need to reflect that. So good job they've knocked 15 per cent off the 33,000ft women's lightweight softshell jacket.
The hooded jacket now costs £50.14 in the exclusive Big Deals Day sales, from its original £58.99. While that's not the world's biggest discount, the reviews are all pretty strong, garnering a 4.5 out of 193 ratings, with people praising it for being 'super flattering'.
The jacket comes in 11 different colours too: black, dark green, greyish blue, grey, midnight blue, pinkish-purple melange, purple melange, wine red, dark grey, khaki, light green melange, and grey melange. (I promise I didn't make some of those up). Made from 94 per cent polyester and six per cent Elastane (spandex), combined with a polar fleece lining, to make it highly stain and water resistant.

Of the positive reviews, one person said: "I am so happy with this coat. It looks great and it is also a fabulous fit. I have been so disappointed with coats around the £50/60 mark before as they have tended to be thin and poorly shaped and poorly designed. This coat could easily be mistaken for a brand-name coat. The design is thoughtful and the quality of stitching and lining is great. I feel as though I am wearing something three times the price when I’m wearing it. I fully recommend this product."

Another added: "This coat is perfect, flattering fit, really comfy and warm. Yes it is rain and wind proof too which is awesome. I liked it so much I also purchased it in purple." With a third saying: "This is a really lovely coat. The lining inside keeps me warm on a windy day. It's a soft material on both sides. Really pleased with the colour (Plum) and length. Haven't worn it out in the rain yet so hoping it will do well. A happy customer..."
However, a less pleased customer said: "Disliked fleece lining being welded to outer, which means no inside pockets." Another said: "I am a UK size 22, 52 inch hip. I bought the size 3xl which i hoped would be big enough to get a jumper on underneath. Sadly, it was too small even with just a TShirt on. Very disappointed as I really like the Jacket."
For something a bit more expensive (but very well liked, based on MyLondon readers) is Seasalt Crownwall's £160 waterproof jacket. Made from recycled nylon, the waterproof parka has a faux fur-lined hood and a longline hem. It fastens with a zip at the front and poppers for extra wind protection.
