BLASDELL, N.Y. (WKBW) — Nestled in Blasdell, ADSCO Manufacturing has been working hard since 1877. They invented the slip-type expansion joint for pipes, which has been used in buildings all over the world in US embassies, universities, and hospitals.

In the company’s 143-year history, it never received an order quite like the one that came in on December 9th. It was for an expansion joint with a delivery address of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, DC. Formally known as the White House. Metallic Compensator

"Apparently the heating system was down at the White House," ADSCO President Jeff Ceier said, "and they needed a company bring in an expansion joint to replace the old one."

This is where ADSCO came in.

"I got excited and said 'Guys, look what is in front of us. We need to jump all over this'," Ceier said.

That is exactly what they did. They worked around the clock to provide a 100% American made, 100% Buffalo produced heating system to the West Wing of the White House.

"They were giving us about a week-and-a-half for the job and we did it in two days."

Already in use, the part should help keep presidents for the next half-century warm. The 29 employee company is seeing this as a massive opportunity to continue growing.

"We get to the point where we are pushing the walls of the building and need to add on to it."

It's something already in the works, because they never know when the next cold spell will hit the executive mansion.
