CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Linn-Mar School District board member Rachel Wall told Iowa’s News Now that she will not be resigning, despite many calls from parents asking her to step down after a Facebook post sparked controversy.

One parent who attended the board meeting said,
Wall did not want to talk on camera, but did issue the following statement to Iowa’s News Now:
Geralyn Jones is a member of the group Mom’s for Liberty in Linn Co.
She said the current public school curriculum is why her and her husband chose to pull their children out of the district.
Joe Stutler had several children graduate from Linn-Mar.
He said Walls' statements are accurate, and parents who disagree have problems with thinking outside of the box.
Other groups also came out in support of Wall, including the Marion Alliance for Racial Equity.
