Grand Sierra Resort Secures Dormakaba to Upgrade Its Guest Room Door Locks |

A seven-member dormakaba-certified installation team upgraded Grand Sierra’s 2,000-plus guest room doors to RFID locks in about two months.

The hotel reportedly made the upgrade for multiple reasons, including the fact that RFID locks are more secure and reliable than magstripe units. RFID key codes cannot be erased by contact with a guest’s cell phone. The Grand Sierra expects to upgrade to dormakaba’s Ambiance lock management system in the future.

Grand Sierra’s MT RFID locks are equipped with contactless and mobile access technology. The MT is a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) capable lock that can operate using dormakaba’s Mobile Access Solutions that lets guests use their mobile devices as their room key.
